How we got here.
Robert Harbin Ledbetter, Sr. established R.H. Ledbetter Properties, LLC, in 1988 after renaming Beverly Hills, Inc., a real estate company originally started by his father in 1927.
Bob was born in Rome on September 24, 1935, son of the late Allison Woodville Ledbetter, Sr. and Rosa Harbin Ledbetter. Bob was a graduate of Culver Summer School, Darlington School, and Culver Military Academy. He earned a B.S. in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech in 1958, following which he proudly served his country as a U. S. Navy Lieutenant aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Ticonderoga.
Bob returned to Rome in 1960 and joined his father’s company and built a successful career in highway construction, grading, aggregate mining, and real estate development, serving as president of Ledbetter Brothers, Inc., and Network Building Systems, Inc. and vice president of Ledbetter Trucks, Inc. and L.B.I. Quarries, Inc., which established and operated rock quarries in Rome, Griffin, and Columbus, GA. Under his leadership Ledbetter Brothers, Inc. built hundreds of miles of roads, highways, and portions of the Interstate Highway System throughout Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina.
A determined entrepreneur, Bob was co-founder of First Rome Bank and Georgia State Bank of Rome, both ultimately acquired by Regions Financial. He served on the board of directors of Echota Realty Company, Shorter Realty Company, Chesapeake International, and numerous real estate partnerships. Bob was a former owner of the Atlanta Flames and Atlanta Hawks professional sports teams and served on the board of directors of Omni Coliseum Promotions, Inc. and Atlanta-Fulton County Management Company.
Bob served numerous civic and business organizations including Georgians for Better Transportation, Rome-Floyd Industrial Development Commission, Rome Rotary Club, Georgia Highway Contractors Association (past president), Georgia Asphalt Paving Association (past president), and the North Carolina Paving Association. Bob was a long-time member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and has been listed in Who’s Who in the South, Finance & Industry, and Real Estate and Development.
Bob’s philanthropic focus was centered on youth and their education and development. He served on the board of trustees for Shorter University, Darlington School, and the Culver Educational Foundation. Bob was appointed to the Georgia Tech Alumni Board of Trustees and to Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business Advisory Board. He also served on the board of directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Georgia for over 50 years.
At Shorter University, Bob supported the development of the on-campus baseball complex which bears his name. He was also inducted into the Shorter University Athletic Hall of Fame. At Georgia Tech Bob established The Robert H. Ledbetter, Sr. Professor of the Practice of Real Estate Development at the Ernest Scheller, Jr. College of Business. He and his family also created the R. H. Ledbetter Family Endowment for the Naval School of Culver Academies, Culver, IN, to maintain its flagship vessel the R. H. Ledbetter, the largest square rigger on inland waters in the United States, which he donated to Culver in 1988 to replace the O.W. Fowler.
Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rome, Sons of the American Revolution, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Coosa Country Club, Nine O’clock Cotillion Club, Sea Island Club, Georgia Tech’s Golden “T” and Hill Society.
Bob’s favorite saying was, “If it was easy, everyone would be doing it,” which underscored his 57-year career in so many different businesses and his remarkable capacity for risk-taking and hard work in pursuit of his tireless vision and drive to produce and succeed.

Since 1990, Bob has been involved directly in the development, redevelopment, acquisition, and disposition of over 3.7 million square feet of retail, medical, medical office, restaurant, and multi-family uses throughout Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Indiana, and Virginia.
Bob serves on the local board of directors of Citizens First Bank, a Synovus Bank (NYSE: SNV). He is a graduate of Leadership Georgia and a member of Rotary International and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). His volunteer service includes Darlington School, Culver Academy, and the Boys and Girls Club of NWGA. He is an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Rome.
Joe Holmes is the Executive Vice President for Development at R.H. Ledbetter Properties, LLC

Joe is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the firm’s development activities as well as establishing, maintaining, and enhancing positive relationships with key tenants, brokers, capital sources, vendors, and other stakeholders. He sources acquisitions of new assets, sets priorities for each asset with the development team and manages the financial activities related to those assets, including managing debt and equity sourcing, creating financial projections, managing acquisition and disposition activities along with occasionally advising the firm’s principals on a wide variety of financial matters. Since joining the firm in 2008, Joe has been directly involved in over $400 million of development, redevelopment, capital, acquisition (including discounted loans) and disposition transactions consisting of approximately 2 million square feet of commercial uses throughout Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Indiana, and Virginia.
Prior to joining R.H. Ledbetter Properties, LLC, Joe worked at Marcus & Millichap, Inc. as an investment sales broker where he specialized in the disposition of commercial investment properties such as shopping centers and medical office buildings. He won the Atlanta office’s Rookie of the Year award, personally brokered the sale of 20 shopping centers and office parks containing over 560,000 square feet with a total value of $60,000,000.
Andrew R. Gates is the Vice President for Construction Management at R.H. Ledbetter Properties, LLC

Andy is a highly detailed project manager and proven leader within the construction industry. He has successfully led the implementation and execution of complex and multifaceted projects that span across a variety of industries including multistory build-to-suit office buildings, hotels, restaurants, laboratories/research, healthcare, civil, industrial manufacturing, retail, and multi-family.
Andy brings a non-traditional viewpoint to projects in that he is a Project Management Professional (PMP) as well as a licensed General Contractor that also has extensive industry expertise in both new construction and tenant improvement projects. This unique background allows him to proficiently communicate across platforms and provide insight and solutions for successful project implementation.

Wright Ledbetter is the Chief Operating Officer at R. H. Ledbetter Properties, LLC
Education
Wright is responsible for overseeing the management and operations of Ledbetter Properties’ real estate portfolio, which currently consists of over 2 million square feet of retail, medical, restaurant and multi-family uses with combined annual revenues exceeding $20 million.
This oversight includes property management and maintenance, finance, budget performance, leasing, and lease administration for all existing partnerships and family investments. Additionally, Wright is involved in new project development, acquisition, and investment activities.
Prior to joining R.H. Ledbetter Properties, Wright worked at Darlington School from 1994-2002 as alumni director and director of the Campaign for Darlington where he managed a broad-based campaign that secured $43.2 million in total commitments to the school.
From 1991-1994 Wright worked as an asset manager in Atlanta as a private contractor for the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC). He oversaw the management and disposition of real estate and loan portfolios from numerous failed Savings & Loan institutions having some 915 individual assets located throughout the United States. He negotiated and closed over $90 million in asset sales.
Wright also serves on the local board of directors of United Community Bank (NASDAQ: UCBI). He is a graduate of Leadership Rome and Leadership Darlington and a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). His volunteer service includes Darlington School, Culver Academy, Washington and Lee University, Rome International Film Festival, and Rome Area Council for the Arts.
